Tips

·         The best way to save money and to help reduce waste and disposal is to buy as much of your supplies second hand. Many people get rid of things that are basically new and for much less than they paid. I would say that 90% of our diapers where bought second hand for more than half the price as buying new.

·         Setting up a good station is key to easy cloth diapering, you need to have all of your things organized and set up close to you and your baby

·         A washing routine is just that a routine and it needs to be followed to keep up with the laundry and to avoid bacteria growth. I wash every two days no matter what! I also strip once a month just to be safe and it is good for the diapers.

·         Never EVER dry the water resistant covers in the dryer!!! It will eventually ruin them, it is ok if you do it by accident but try not to.

·         Your diapers will get dirty and stained it is just a part of diapering, the best way to get the stains our safely is to let them sun outside for a few hours. If you have hard stains put some lemon juice on the stain to further it along. I swear by this method of stain removal and it works for all other cloths as well. If you do put lemon juice on the diapers make sure they are washed before you put them on baby!

·         Make your own wipes! You don’t have to buy expensive cloth wipes, get some old shirts, or flannel pajamas, or any soft fabric you have and cut it up in small squares. It is really easy and better than the ones you can buy.  You can even cut up an old towel; they work great for super big messes. Another option is buying cheap baby washcloths from discount stores.
